Peacock Bling with CTMH Circle of Love and a serious amount of glitter...

Some days you just have to go girly!

I took a 9x9" retired Simply Snapshot and cut it down to make two 8x3.5" card fronts.  The large peacock image from Cicle of Love fit perfectly in the top section leaving the bottom part open for more decoration or sentiment.  I recently sorted through my cards bins and decided I needed more cards that were blank that I can just stamp an appropriate sentiment into to fit the occassion so I made a pair of feathers to decorate the front.

The peacock image is embossed in Cocoa embossing powder.  I then came in with my Waterbrush and used ink from the top of my inkpads to add a splash of Gypsy and Juniper ink to the image.  I love the softness this gives!
I finished it off with a serious amount of bling using Martha Stewart silver glitter.  The sparkle frame was made using Scoretape - I simply laid down the lines and sprinkled the glitter on top.  The Scoretape does a great job of holding the glitter down (I hate flaky glitter projects that shed glitter after you've make them).  I used liquid glass to free hand outlines and dots on the peacock image and shook glitter over those as well - liquid glass if fabulous for creating this kind of glitter shape and keeps the glitter where it needs to be too!

If you'd like to make this project, get these supplies:
Paper:  Perfect Day Simply Snapshots (retired), Kraft Color Ready Borders
Other:  Cocoa Embossing Powder, Waterbrush, Sparkles, Spring Mini Medly, Organdy Ribbon (retired)

Close to my Heart (CTMH) Deal of the Day Sat. June 13th - Sweet Pea Simply Snapshots FREE ($8.95 value)!

Close to my Heart's Deal of the Day is a package of 12 Sweet Pea Simply Snapshots ($8.95 value!) FREE with the purchase of any A,B,C,D or E size Acrylix Stamp Set! Simply Snapshots are such a fun product to use! They are 9x9" and printed on both sides with two areas that perfectly fit 4x6" photos leaving a small mat behind them. There is a section for journaling and embellishing that you can rotate any direction to give different looks. If you use our clear 9x9 page protectors and a 9x9" album you'll have 24 pages (front and back of 12 sheets) for a total of 48 4x6" photos or you can do a larger/smaller photo over the area as seen in the Summer 09 Idea Book pages 50-51.

My favorite use for the Simply Snapshots is making one of our a 9x9" chipboard accordian albums ($5.95) as seen above! On this one I used "Let's Get Together" Simply Snapshots and a matching Level 1 Paper Pack (Level 2 also works really well). I like to make a "Stamp Around" cover and a "Treasure Pocket" back page with Simply Snapshots on each of the interior pages. Done this way you can get the interior of 2 albums done with 1 package of Simply Snapshots. You can rotate the headers and there are two patters (front and back) to choose from for variations on design. If you add a matching 9x9 Memory Keeper Box ($6.95) you'll have an incredible custom gift that doesn't take long to make and will WOW any recipient! We have a large selection of Simply Snapshots to choose from to make albums for everything from new baby (Sweet Pea), Wedding (That's Amore or Silhouette), Graduation (Silhouette), Tropical or Beach Vacation (Moon Doggie), etc. There are 12 paper patterns to choose from to fit any occasion! CTMH Altered 9x9 Chipboard Album and matching CTMH Memory Keeper Box with CTMH Silhouette Paper and Simply Snapshots Gift for Graduation

I made this set at my MIL's request for her to give to a co-worker who is graduating from college. I really like the way it turned out!

I've used our terrific Memory Keeper 9x9 box which comes as a flat packed box that you pop up and push the front in to make a box. The best features of this are: its White Daisy so it takes ink true to color, the front lip has a nice strong magnetic closure across the entire front, you can choose not to permanently adhere it together if you want a seasonal box or birthday box to fold flat after the celebration, it perfectly fits our 9x9 chipboard accordian album and the price is right at just $6.95!

Here I've used our Silhouette Level 2 paper pack for the exterior of the box - very classy don't you think?

I've embossed the front in our Silver embossing powder which is a nice bright metallic against the black paper. I also like our Silver Pearl which is a much softer pearly silver but this one seemed the right fit for this box.

This shows how it looks with the 9x9 chipboard album inside. You can also paper the interior of the box.
Here is the album side by side with the Memory Keeper box. The 3-d embellishments are from Target. Now, I usually am pretty darn exclusive to CTMH products because I love the color coordination but I found these 3-d embellishments in the dollar section at Target, they pretty much matched the classic colors of Silhouette and to be frank, I was in the middle of a really busy time so I was trying to finish this off and ship it out very quickly.

You can't get much easier than using Simply Snapshots for the interior of the album! These are sized at 9x9 already so all you have to do is adhere them to the accordian pages and you are done! I like to put them both horizontally and vertically so people can use all the pictures from an event.

Here is the back side of the album showing the two covers. The back page is a treasure pocket with one of the Simply Snapshots cut in half and the tops embellished for pull-out cards.
The entire thing went together in one morning so it was a quickie but very nice project! If you use other cardstock for the tags in the treasure pocket you can get two of these albums out of one package of Simply Snapshots and one Level 2 paper pack!

Materials used:
Stamps: You Did It, Chocolate Alphabet Large (name on front), Friendship Alphabet (for numbers - this was a special a couple of months ago), Key to my Heart (large corner swirls on the box - this set was a special a couple of months ago)
Other: Silver Embossing Powder, Memory Keeper Box, 9x9 Chipboard Accordian Album, Target Graduation 3-d embellishments
