February 2011 Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

Welcome to the February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  If you have come here from Teresa's Blog, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one!  Here we go!

This card was inspired by one I saw in a catalog a while back but with colors from our new Wings paper pack.  I like the clean and classic feel to this card.

Materials Used:
Other:  Black Button Brads from Black Mini Medley Collection

Valentine's Day Countdown Day #1 Blog Hop

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Valentine's Day Countdown!

This year we will be having a DAILY linky party showcasing cards and projects to inspire your creative mojo for the big day of love!  Every day from now until February 14th we will have NEW artwork featuring Close to my Heart products created by consultants from all over the United States and Canada!  All consultants will be using thumbnail pictures which link directly to their blogs so you can stop by and visit with all the participants.

I can't wait to see all the wonderful artwork my fellow creative CTMH "sisters" have made!  Remember to visit us DAILY for new artwork and inspiration!

I've been wanting to try my hand at making a heart shaped basket with my Nestabilities for a while and finally had the chance to make one last night.  I don't know why I waited so long - this was easy, easy, easy!

I simply die-cut four shapes (two pink and two black hearts) and then used a strip of cardstock and scored the sides to adhere to each black heart back.  I added a cardstock handle and *poof* I was done!  I used one of the damask shapes from the Friendship set to stamp tone-on-tone and added the sentiment with black embossing powder.  I'll be making some more of these to match my kids personalities and hang them on their door knobs on Valentine's Day. (shhhh....don't tell!)

Materials Used:
Other:  Black embossing powder, Heart shaped Nestabilities

Video showing how easy CTMH Recipe Boxes are to create!

This video was made by a fellow CTMH sister, Melanie Harmsma, to show everyone just how easy CTMH's Recipe Boxes are to cover.  You can order these from my website - they are only $6.95 and they make a great little gift filled with a couple of homemade cards or you can use them to store 4x6 photos.  I think she did a fabulous job in a very short time - check it out!

CTMH Family is Love Banner with Wings Paper

This banner is a BONUS project you get when your purchase the Wings Workshop on the Go during January.  You'll receive a full set of color instructions with cutting dimensions to put together one of our new pennant banners (just $5.95 for the pennants) using left overs from your Wings Workshop!  LOVE IT!   I still need to add some pictures to this banner (on segments 2,3,5 and 6 there is space for a snapshot or two).  I think this will make a darling Valentine's Day display!  One of the great things about these banners is that they fold up on those jump rings so you can store them in a gallon size ziploc bag.  That means you can make one for each holiday because the storage space is small!

Materials Used:

Welcome Friend banner using new CTMH pennants, Wings and Find Your Style

Here is the banner project we will be creating at the 22 January Crop. This class will start at 2PM (to help you plan in case you can't make the whole day).

This banner was inspired by a post from a fellow CTMH consultant, Lisa Stenz, on our consultant bulletin board.  I've made a few changes but I really loved how she combined the Wings Workshop stamp with Find Your Style (Jan SOTM) on this banner!  We'll be learning several new techniques on this project:  how to mix and spray with our new Spray Pen, how to create accordian flowers and emboss resist.

Video showing how to use CTMH Spray Pens to create glimmers and mists

One of the brand new products from Close to my Heart is a new set of 3 spray pens so you can make your own **CHEAP** glimmer mists! Just a couple of drops of re-inker and a couple of drops of pearl paint mixed with either water or rubbing alcohol (it evaporates a wee bit quicker) makes a tube of glittery, glimmery spray! I've been having a blast using my new pen (one comes with the Wings Workshop on the Go kit that is available NOW in January to tide us over until Feb 1 when the whole new Idea Book goes live).

To check out the Wings Workshop (with spray pen) as well as the huge discounts you can get on brand new stamps during the January "Inspirations" campaign, click HERE.  You can even get our new E size Bohemian Alphabet for just $25 through the end of January.  There is a widget on the top right that will take you right to the brochure as well!
