The list of all participating consultant sites can be found in the post just previous to this one - keep scrolling to the next post and you'll find the complete list!

Now - on to my contribution!

This month's piece is a single layout I did for my husband. The sentiments in this set really spoke to me for him. He's in a time of unexpected change right now and I really wanted to tell him how much I love him, support him and how much faith I have in him. I know he'll take care of our family and I know, as with so many changes we've been through in our 20 years together, in the end this will bring postive things to our family. The process of change is hard but it is also what propels us forward into new directions and new beginnings. I guess its the optimist in me - the part of me that answers YES! to the questions of the universe that makes the sentiment fit so well - "the winds of change bring treasures untold...embrace change".

I've used a lot of tone on tone (my hubby isn't a flashy guy) and very little embellishment as that fits more with his personality. This really is just a straight forward, directly from the heart piece. There is a hidden journaling matted block I've made for the back of the layout - when journaling is very private I will attach it to the back of the layout to hide just for me - I could have also put it in a pocket under the picture to hide it as well. As far as techniques in this project - I've added some chocolate ink in a swirl around the embossed flowers using a stipple brush to highlight those images and give some texture to this very simple layout. I love the multiple sizes of dandelion flower heads in this set - if you follow from the bottom left corner you'll see the sizes decrease like they are blowing in the wind away from you.

Materials Used (all CTMH):
Stamp: Treasures (September SOTM)
Paper: Desert Sand Cardstock, Indian Corn Blue Cardstock
Ink: Desert Sand, Chocolate
Other: White Daisy Embossing Powder, Love Letter Rubons, Stipple brush

Now, put back on your frog feet and hop on over to Kelly's blog - she's FABULOUS - I can't wait to see what she's come up with! Be sure to follow the whole hop and visit all 70 or so consultants who are participating for tons of great ideas! Don't forget - if you spend $100 in product you'll get this stamp set for FREE and now CTMH will pick up the tax on the free SOTM as well! CTMH Everyday Celebrations Stamp and CTMH Magic Moments Paper 6x6" Chipboard Accordian Album

Okay, so now that you've seen the awesome cards you can make with the Everyday Celebrations kit I'd like to show you just how versatile this set is by sharing a 6x6" chipboard accordian birthday album I made with the stamp set and some Magic Moments paper!

My daughter was invited to a friend's 13th birthday party today and she needed to find a gift that fit with her friend. Her friend isn't really into jewelry, video games, etc. so she was kind of at a loss on what to get until I suggested a personalized 6x6" chipboard accordian birthday party album so her friend can have a place to keep photos of her special day. Eliza thought this sounded great (especially as Mom already had all the items and I'm giving her the "family discount" on product - aka she didn't have to spend any of her babysitting money).

As with most personalized gifts, the best way to start is to think about the person and what you know they like. I asked Eliza what colors Tiana likes to wear and she said mostly green and brown - two patterns from Magic Moments sprang into mind. I then asked what other things she knew Tiana liked and Eliza said ladybugs and sheep. So out came the "Alphabet Solos K" set (two adorable lady bugs) and "A Birthday Wish" was added to the pile for the sweet sheep. After two hours of cutting, assembly and some extra stamping - here is the very cute and personalized gift her friend is receiving today!

CTMH - I'm all a twitter and blown away by whats in store for Fall/Winter 09!

I just have to share - for the last couple of days Close to my Heart has been having a conference in California where they've been announcing enhancements, updates, new products and the new Fall/Autumn Idea Book. I wasn't able to attend the conference but have been tied to my computer for literally two days reading all the updates and drooling over the new Idea Book. WOW!!! I can't even begin to tell you how blown away I am AGAIN by this amazing company I work for! I simply can't WAIT for my open house on September 11!

I'll be placing my order tonight for all the new Kit of the Month sets as well as lots of new accessories and products! I won't spoil the surprise by going into details but boy are you going to LOVE what we have in store for you! For me the VERY BEST new surprise is that now even long distance customers can participate in our Kit of the Month workshops! Thats right - even if you are all the way across the country from me you'll be able to order the Kit of the Month through me and get your scrapping AND/OR cardmaking done (hint, hint) at home with one fabulous kit! As soon as my goodies arrive I'll begin crafting up a storm and will post small sneak peeks of the fabulosity (so good I had to make up a word for it) in store for us all!

So stay tuned ladies and save the date 'cause we're gonna have some FUN!
