Cutting your stamps apart feels so naughty - Bumble Bee card with CTMH Buzz and Bumble and Quick Cards Bumble Bee

Here is a sweet little bee card made with our Buzz and Bumble paper pack and our $6.95 A sized Quick Card Bumble Bee stamp set.

If you look at the actual stamp image below you'll notice I didn't use the sentiment that is attached to the stamp.  Hold your breath and get ready for this - I sometimes CUT my stamps APART.  Eeek - I know.  It does feel somewhat "naughty" when I do it but I use a pair of our extra sharp microtip scissors and make sure its a stamp that can be cut easily with space between pieces.  Sometimes I just know I'll use a stamp more if its separated than if all the pieces are together.

I'm entering this in our Heart2Heart Creature Feature challenge this week as a bonus submission!  You have all month to submit for our challenges so make sure you get your critters out and get stamping!

Hugs,

Paige

Under the Sea Card for Creature Feature at Heart2Heart Challenges

Today we have a Creature Feature going on at Heart2Heart Challenges!

You know how you page through a brand new Idea Book and certain stamps just make you squeal?  For me the squealing usually involves some kind of critter stamp.  Cow, bugs, fish, crocodiles, birds - you name it and if it flies, swims, crawls or walks on all fours its probably going to make its way into my stamp room sometime within the 6 months of the Idea Book!  My stamp drawer labelled "animals" and "nature" are packed to the brim with fun images from Close to my Heart.
Our "Under the Sea" stamp set is full of fun fish images with pun sayings - what could be better?  I just love this little tropical fish!
Here is a close up that shows the dimensional layers on this guy.  I stamped him three times on patterned paper and pieced the yellow fin sections on.  The body color and gray shading around him were added with markers.

Grab your creature cuties and get stamping then join us at Heart2Heart Challenges this week for our Creature Feature fun!  If you are a current Close to my Heart consultant, don't miss our Design Team call that just went out at the Heart2Heart blog!

Stay crafty my friends!

Chantilly Dimensional Elements ($4.95)

During the class you can purchase directly from me the additional 13 sheets of cardstock (White Daisy, Key Lime, Buttercup and Outdoor Denim - total cost of $6.76) you'll need to finish the project.  This class does use the Artiste cartridge BUT I will have my Cricut Expression 2 and the cartridge available to help you cut or do it for you if you aren't a Cricut user or don't have the Artiste cartridge.  Feel free to bring your machine to the class if you want a bit of help getting up and running on cutting with your Cricut.

Inspired by the front cover of the new Idea Book.

Inspired by the new Idea Book art.

Inspired by a fellow CTMH consultant, Elizabeth Mindemann.

Inspired by a fellow CTMH consultant, Melissa Laverty.

Inspired by a fellow CTMH consultant, Laurie Varner

As you can see I heavily lifted from fellow CTMH consultants as well as CTMH corporate for this class - there were just so many beautiful projects created with this awesome versatile paper pack!  By combining the layouts I was able to use just about every scrap of the paper pack and every single Dimensional Element in the set!

When you arrive I'll give you the cutting guide and you can either work at your own pace or go through the guide with me one sheet of paper at a time.  I know we are going to have lots of fun putting these together!

Male Teacher Appreciation Gift - Takeout box with paper Fortune Cookies

This week's challenge at Heart2Heart Challenges comes just in time for those of us with school aged kids - create a Teacher Appreciation project!  This year my youngest child has a male teacher who doesn't eat candy and already received a boat load of Starbucks cards for Christmas so I had to really put my thinking cap on to create a project I thought he'd like!

I know my son truly likes his teacher and has learned a lot this year so I wanted to tell him how fortunate we feel to have him for our last year in Elementary school.  I asked my son write six reasons he really likes his teacher on small strips of paper and I created paper fortune cookies and a decorated box to put them in.  I tested them out and to get the messages out you have to snap open the cookie just like a real one - very fun!
I think his teacher will get a kick out of this gift and be touched by how much he is truly appreciated by his student. Here is the same box decorated with a panda bear from the Create a Critter cartridge to show another example.  I like to make two projects at a time, one to use now and one to save for later!
I hope you'll join us at Heart2Heart Challenges this week and create a project for a teacher in your life or anyone who does something that deserves a bit of extra thanks!

Stay crafty my friends!

Paige

Mother's Day and Thank You/Teacher Appreciation Card Class - Tuesday, 7th May from 7-9PM

Hello my beautiful friends -

Its been too long since I've had a card class and I MISS seeing all my dear paper crafting friends!  I finally forced myself to sit down and create a class just so I can get together with YOU!

With two big holidays next week, Mother’s Day and Teacher Appreciation, I wanted to sneak a class in this coming Tuesday night from 7-9PM so you can get your cards in the mail if you need to.  If you can't make it to the class but really want the cards for the coming week, you can order the cards pre-made and ready to mail then pick them up at your convenience next week from Tuesday on.

There are a total of 8 cards – 2 Mother’s Day, 1 Friendship, 2 “You’re the Best” and 3 general appreciation/thankyou cards.  I’ve used our beautiful new Chantilly papers and made sure we have a couple of guy cards as well in case you need to thank a man in your life.  All materials are pre-cut and pre-stamped for this one, perfect to bring along a friend who is new to papercrafting!  Just bring your adhesive (I have some for sale if you don’t have a dry runner adhesive) and your pop-dots and be ready for a fun night out!

Cost:       Class $15 or $10 with $25 CTMH order
$20 pre-made, ready to mail - pick up Tuesday, 7th or later

When:      Tuesday, 7th May so you can mail the cards if you need to!

Time:       7-9PM

RSVP:     by Sunday, 5th May, payment can be made at the class

Where:     Paige’s House on Steller Way

I'm looking forward to seeing you soon!

Hugs,

Paige
