Heart2Heart Challenges - Two/Second Challenge

This card was created for the Heart2Heart Challenges "Two" Challenge this week.  My interpretation of this challenge is two objects, in this case two foxes plus two initials.  This one is my first Valentine for this year and obviously created for my husband Mark!
This kind of scene card where you take pieces from several patterned papers and bring them all together is one of my very favorite kinds of cards to create.  The orange fur comes from our Sangria collection, the tree bark overlay is from Urban, the blue herringbone sky is from Zoe and the leaves on the tree come from Kaleidoscope!  Plus I used Topiary, Kraft, White and Creme Brulee (retired) cardstock!  I always feel like I'm painting with the different colors and patterns of papers when I create on like this.

Thanks for stopping by today!  All the products used on this card are linked below so you can click out and see them on my shopping site!

Pop Up Box Card with Hopscotch Papers

This is the first box card I made with the new All Occassion Box Cards cartridge from Cricut so I pulled out some retired Hopscotch papers for a test run of how these cards go together.  This cutie is set for a standard sized card (5.5x4.25") but was a very tight squeeze into a regular envelope.
I made two of these cards - one for my daughter at college where I left the tiny envelopes unsealed and added a very small paper inside each envelope with special messages of encouragement for her.  The other card I sent to my Mom today to brighten up her living space at her new memory care nursing home.  She is in an advanced stage of dementia but likes to fiddle with things. I'm hoping she enjoys opening and closing the box part up but at the very least it will brighten up her living space.

I don't buy very many non-CTMH cartridges but the new All Occasion Box Card cartridge looked too cute AND I got it for a great price plus free shipping. So...I just couldn't resist!

Thanks for stopping by today! Stay crafty my friends!

Heart2Heart Challenges - By the Numbers

Heart2Heart Challenges has a "By the Number" challenge this week so I made a fun birthday card to send to my daughter who is celebrating entering into her 20s this month!
Our bright and cheery Kaleidosope paper made the perfect banner background for this chocolate deluxe and sparkly cake!  Most of the cuts for this one came from our awesome Artistry Cricut Cartridge.  I even welded a candle cut to the top of my numbers to make them look like the number candles you buy in the store.
I decorated the inside with a sentiment and some fun presents plus a cute little party hat!
I hope you'll hop on over to Heart2Heart Challenges and have some fun with numbers this week!  Thanks for stopping by and stay crafty my friends!

Heart2Heart Challenges - First Challenge of 2016!

After taking a few weeks off from blogging and crafting it felt really good to get back into my craft room today and actually create. Kicking off 2016 with a brand new challenge from Heart2Heart Challenges was the perfect start!  This week we are featuring a "One" challenge - think January, the number, fresh start, New Year, etc.

I created a card for my husband to thank him for all the love and care he has been giving me while I've been dealing with my Dad's passing.  I want to let my husband know how very much I appreciate him and how blessed I feel to have him as my partner in life.

This card has a mixture of papers - Urban for the blue, Nevermore and Zoe for the globe and Sangria for the little heart.  I used my Explore to draw the falling stars background from our Artistry Cartridge and then I colored them in with our watercolor paints.  The banner frame has my husband's name cut out in the Artistry font and backed with tin foil to give it lots of shine.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you'll join us ringing in the New Year with our brand new Heart2Heart Challenge!
