Heart2Heart Challenges - The Birds and the Bees

This week at Heart2Heart Challenges we are celebrating Spring with a Birds and Bees challenge!  I decided to combine old and new by grabbing a long retired but absolutely adorable bee themed stamp set and combine it with Cricut cut shapes (taken from Artfully Sent) and our Honeycomb Embossing Folder.

M
My images were colored in with a combination of marker (on the bees) and watercolor pencils.  You can see a bit of retired Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel on the wings too.

Thanks for stopping by today and I'll hope you head on over to Heart2Heart Challenges and get your Spring on with our Birds and Bees challenge!

Urban and Stamps of Approval Center Stair Step Card

This card features our awesome Urban paper pack mixed with our C1637 Stamps of Approval stamp set (coordinates with Artistry) with a scattering of Artbooking images to create fireworks.
Our foil tapes have become one of my go-to products lately because they add so much shine but don't make a card feel too girly.  They come on 15 yard rolls for $4.95 and are self-adhesive so they are easy to add, economical and they mail flat!
I really love the way the stars hang over the side steps on this card to enhance the 3-D effect.  I've been on a fancy fold kick lately having lots of fun with my Explore!

Heart2Heart Challenges - Fern Color Challenge!

This week at Heart2Heart Challenges we are hosting a Fern Color challenge in honor of March and St. Patrick's Day.  I decided to have some fun with my new C1643 Stuck on You stamp set, our Charlotte Papers and our adhesive springs to make a fun motion card today.
I decided to try three different techniques to make my cacti each look different while still using the same Fern ink color.

1.  Cactus on the left -Stamped the outline in Fern then reversed the stamp on the block, inked and stamped off for Second Generation Fern and then rolled the edges in Fern before stamping the back of the stamp onto the outline.
2.  Middle cactus - Stamped the outline in Fern ink and then using a Waterbrush filled in with Fern ink directly from my inkpad.  Then I stamped the outline a second time to give it a darker look.
3. Cactus on the right - Stamped the outline in Fern, used the back of the stamp and inked up in Fern but stamped off twice to get Third Generation Fern ink before stamping over the outline stamp.
I used an Adhesive Spring (you get 6 in a package for $2.95) to give my center cactus movement. I like the way it seems to pop off the card and wobble around ready to stick you with a prickly.  I also used some of our Silver Sequins to mimic a gravel bed and a touch of Fern Thick Twine on the stamped sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you'll grab some Fern green and have some fun with us this week at Heart2Heart Challenges!  Stay crafty my friends!

Heart2Heart Challenges - Retired Products Challenge!

Today at Heart2Heart Challenges we are hosting a "Retired Product" challenge and even though it wasn't my DT group I just had to play along!  After so many years of being a CTMH consultant I have a considerable amount of retired product hanging around my craft room!
One of the things I like using retired product on is experimenting with new styles of cards.  This one is called a Side Stair step card that I found on Pinterest and played around with it in Design Space until I could get it right for my size card.
The papers I've used are from Roxie (probably about 3 years ago) and two different stamp sets - the Brushed WOTG stamp set for the butterfly image that I stamped in Slate and Smoothie and B1400 Beautiful Friendship which is actually still available until 8/1/16!
I had a blast creating this 3-D card!  Can you tell I'm gearing up to offer a fun fold class?  I'm starting a new job this week so I'm not quite ready yet but I'll be posting information soon!

Don't forget that this month is STAMPGANZA our fabulous Buy 2 Get 1 FREE stamp sale!  You just keep adding stamps to your shopping cart and for every 2 you have they'll give you a third for free! So if you get 6 stamps then the 2 lowest priced sets will be the freebies.

You can expand your dollars by setting up a party through me and getting Hostess Rewards on your order too!  Just send me a note at Paige@Stampologist.com or give me a call at (425) 260-6965 if you'd like me to help you do that!

Thanks for stopping by and stay crafty my friends!

Watercolor Blog Hop

Welcome to the Watercolor Blog Hop! If you have come here from Lauren's Blog you are on the right track. The complete list of participating CTMH Consultant bloggers can be found here.

This is another entry in my Dementia Friendly Series of cards that I started in honor of my Mom.  These are cards that are image based without a lot of words (she can no longer process the written word) and usually contain a 3-D element to play with and catch her interest.
I pulled the iris image from one of the Artfully sent cards along with the sweet butterflies to decorate the front of the card.  All the elements were cut from our Watercolor paper. I used our new Eggplant Cardstock to frame the card front and complement the flowers.
The inside card is another of our Artfully Sent Pop Up Cards.  I painted a rainbow of watercolor on the inside of the cardbase to show up behind the center popped up butterfly.
The large butterfly overlay is cut from Aluminum Duct Tape from the hardware store.  It is self-adhesive so I laid strips down on White Daisy and set my Cricut Explore to custom cut Aluminim.  It worked GREAT!
I had a lot of fun creating this one - I just loved the almost holographic effect of the shiny silver butterfly with the rainbow behind it.

Here is the Cricut Explore file if you would like to make this card:  https://us.cricut.com/design/#/canvas/37154473

March SOTM Blog Hop - Sunshine Birdies!

Welcome to the March SOTM Blog Hop featuring our exclusive Sunshine Birdies stamp set!  If you have come here from Lisa's Blog you are on the right track.  You can find the complete listing of participating CTMH Consultant bloggers here.

This stamp set is such a cutie that I knew I was going to have to doing something fun with it!  I made a center stair step card with our Penelope Paper Pack and added lots of the images stamped in Memento ink and colored with our Shinhan Markers to create a fun scene.
I love having sentiments that you can partially color to make them pop - this stamp set has two! For some extra dazzle I added our Green Shimmer Trim and a couple of the Enamel and Glitter Hearts.
I cut out two of the clouds from one of the PML card paper that comes with this kit and attached them to the very back of the card - this shot shows the fun 3-D effect you can get with this style of card.
Isn't this the cutest little birdie set? If you are ready to add some adorable to your stamp collection for just $5 with purchase you can head on over to my shopping site at:
