My Cricut is a happy little bug today because I received a bunch of new products to play with for Christmas!  Fresh mats, a couple of cool cartridges I've had my eye on and the consultant preview copy of the new Idea Book that goes live on February 1st!

Noel Christmas Card with Cricut Artiste and CTMH Pear and Partridge

This card is pretty much all Cricut Artiste - the Noel and the fun bow were all cut with the cartridge and I just added a bit of Glitz and some bling.  Gotta love how easy the Cricut makes crafting!

Are you getting excited for Christmas?  I can't believe we are just a few days away!  The kids are all on break now and I've still got all my wrapping to do but at least I'm finally done with my shopping.  My husband and I have to take out two of the kiddos separately so they can shop for their siblings.  My youngest and arguably the best planner of the bunch, has completed his shopping but the two teens still need to hit the stores for their sibling presents.  I have a couple of ideas for good low-cost gifts they can give to each other so hopefully it won't take us long to finish up.

How about you?  Are you all done with shopping, wrapping and cards?  Are you like my MIL who gets it all done by the day after Thanksgiving (hers is ALWAYS my first card of the year) or are you like me and get things done in the nick of time?

Rose Tote Box with CTMH Avonlea and Cricut Artiste

I know I've said it before but I seriously adore making the 3-D bags, boxes and flowers from our two Cricut cartridges - Art Philosophy had a bunch but Artiste has TONS of these cuts.  Here I've used our gorgeous Avonlea paper mixed up again with Smokey Plum to create a beautiful box perfect for gift giving.

This is the adorable gable tote box was cut to fit a page so the overall dimensions are about 4 7/8" wide x 2 1/4" deep x 4" high.

The rose and leaves were also cut with Artiste.  When I roll up my roses I'll often glue them, lightly spritz them with water and then take a heavy acrylic block and smoosh them down a bit.  This flattens the flowers out and helps curl some of the edges.  Its a fast way to get them looking more natural without fiddling with the individual petals.

I took a sanding block to the edges of the leaves and also ran a score line down the middle in order to sand a vein into the leaf.

You're The Best card with CTMH Avonlea and Kudos

The stamp sets that come with the Artiste Cricut cartridge are awesome!  This sentiment comes from the set called "Kudos" which also contains one of my new favorites - a huge rosette stamp with ribbons you can add, best part of all is that you can cut the shapes on the Cricut to stamp.

In the new Idea Book there is a card making workshop using the Avonlea paper pack that pulls in Smokey Plum as an accent color - right up my alley because I love purples.  

Did you know you can cut our Chocolate grosgrain ribbon in half if you want a smaller ribbon?  The 1.5" ribbon would have overwhelmed this card but cut in half it was perfect!

The resin flower is from a set that went with our Sonoma papers.  I've been hoarding the purple flowers but it was perfect for this card.

Who doesn't like to be told they are the best?  Wouldn't this card make you happy if you got it in the mail?

The Merry-Go-Round card that started it all

This is the card that started me thinking about doing a carnival theme for my Summer Customer Carnival to celebrate the new Idea Book. (Click here to read the details and RSVP to come on August 23rd.)  

I absolutely fell in love with this image on the Artiste cartridge and couldn't wait to cut it out!  I used our new Clementine paper pack to give it a country fair feel.  A bit of Glitz Glitter gel, a couple of clouds also from Artiste, and ka-pow one adorable card!  The sentiment tag comes in one of the 3 stamp sets included with the cartridge - score!

For those of you coming to my Summer Customer Carnival, just wait till you see this cut at full 12" size - too fabulous and fun!

I'm getting REALLY excited about my Summer Customer Carnival!  I've ordered the cotton candy machine (my kids are SO excited about that one!), a few props for silly photos and some other surprise items to make this carnival a blast!  I hope you'll be able to join me on August 23rd!
