CTMH Cruisin' Artist/Art Layout for Heart2Heart Challenges Photo Challenge

The Heart2Heart Challenge this week is a photo challenge - use a photo on any type of project (layout, card, home decor, etc.) and tell us what the photo is about!  How easy is that?  

This challenge was a great excuse to use some recent snap shots of my middle child at an all-school art show.  I have to confess - these pictures are actually print outs as I didn't have time to get the photos sent to  Costco so these will be replaced with higher quality photos soon.

I used the "Trap Door" layout from our Magic book and did hidden journaling under the 2012 scalloped shape.  The journaling reads:  "We were so proud of you when we found out a piece of your art was chosen for the all school art show.  I was completely blown away when I saw your self-portrait.  I had no idea you could paint like that!  I'm so proud of my artist!  Love, Mom"

I wanted my paper selections to reflect the gray tone self-portrait so I kepts to the greens, gray and blacks from the pictures.  The black paper with the funky shapes doodled on it is from our new Crusin' paper pack - I thought it had kind of an artsy painter's palette feel to it.  The Juniper grid paper is from Typeset and most of the rest is cardstock and retired items (trying to use up some stash before the next Idea Book comes out!).

Outerspace Revolving Door Card with CTMH Merry Monsters and Reach for the Stars

This is my last revolving door Valentine (promise - my next post has a different holiday!) but I wanted to share what a three section revolving door card looks like.  This one is fairly big at 6x6" and space themed for my little NASA worker-wanna-be.

I put a bit of liquid glass on the space ships, the alien's eye and teeth and lots of Glitz on the background paper's stars - LOVE that stuff!  Once again, all my coloring was done with my new Waterbrush and our inkpads.

Turtle Hugs and Fishy Kisses Revolving Door Boy Card with CTMH Family Ties Pets

For Valentine's Day this year I made each of my kids a "revolving door" card (I showed my daughter's girlie one earlier in the Valentine's Day hop).  They are based on a pattern out of CTMH's Magic scrapbooking how-to book.  These cards are SO much fun to make and my kids all loved playing with the spinners on the cards.

The images were colored in using our Waterbrush and inkpads and I liberally used liquid glass for water bubbles on this card as well as over the fishbowl.

If you'd like to make a revolving door card like this one, get these supplies:

Paper:  Tinkerin', Black Cardstock

Stamps:  Family Ties - Pets

Inks:  Sunny Yellow, Twilight, Topiary, Black

Other:  Magic (How-to Scrapping Book for pattern), Liquid Glass, Waterbrush, Green Bigger Brad, Sharpie marker for writing (I could have used alphabet stamps but I was feeling too lazy to go upstairs and get them - LOL!)

CTMH Valentine's Day Countdown Day #9 Blog Hop

This Valentine is for my darling daughter.  My girl isn't a very pinky girl but she does love strawberries more than any other person I've ever met.  I used a pattern from the Magic scrapbooking book called revolving door and printed the 3.5" size to create this fun, interactive card for her.

Then presto-changeo, move the disc and reveal....

Its kind of hard to see but all the polka dots on this card have either liquid glass or Glitz glitter gel on them making this a shiny, sparkling card as pretty as the girl its going to in a couple of days!
