CTMH Deal of the Day FREE White Daisy Ricrac 3/8" ($6.95 value) - June 12th

Close to my Heart's Deal of the Day for Friday, 12 June is a 12 yard spool of White Daisy Ricrac 3/8" ($6.95 value!) FREE with any order of an A,B,C,D or E size Acrylix stamp set with reduced shipping of just $3! This sweet ribbon is used in our Animal Cookies workshop (click here to see the full workshop from my website) which is coming up in August. The bright colors in Animal Cookies and Tinkerin' really pop against the crisp white of this fun zigzaggy ribbon!

How do I apply ricrac to my projects? I like to lay the ricrac down on a piece of scrap paper and run some Tombow down the back side. I then apply it to my project. There will be a bit of Tombow sticking out off the sides of the zigzags. You can then rub the excess Tombow off with your finger or with a White Polymer/Plastic Eraser you can find at your local office supply store. These erasers also work great for taking off excess chalk, excess watercolor pencil (before you use a blending pen) and for seasoning your stamps.

When I season my stamps I lightly trace over the stamp with the white eraser then I ink the whole thing up in Bamboo and stamp on a piece of scrap. This gives it the first breaking in to remove any residue from manufacturing and kind of seals the stamp from excessive staining. When I go to use a stamp for the first time I rub it a bit on the ink pad of choice and might stamp off on scrap to make sure it is fully seasoned before stamping directly on my project. The seasoning makes your ink fully saturate the top surface of your stamp so you get a nice crisp clear image. Make sure you are using your foam from the inside of the stamp set or a VersaMat to stamp on so it has some "give" and the ink can reach all areas of the paper!
