Art Nouveau Button Flower Card with CTMH Footloose, Art Philosophy

This card shows a completely different side of the Footloose paper pack.  My last two projects focused on the ocean feel of this paper but while I was playing with it I kept thinking that some of the papers had an almost Art Nouveau feel.  I started by cutting the flower shapes and vase from the Art Philosophy Cartridge and then added some stacked buttons to bling it up.

6x6 Accordian Album with Footloose and Compliments

I had enough printed chipboard to make yesterday's card plus a couple of leftover pieces for future projects - gotta love that!

Wishing you Sunshine with CTMH Footloose and Compliments Dimensional Elements

I have a kiddo who loves all water creatures - from frogs and salamanders to starfish and whales - if it spends most of its time in water he is interested in it.  When I saw the fun Footloose paper and coordinating printed chipboard Compliments I knew I had to make some Ocean themed stuff for my guy.

I made a fun mini-album with the dimensional elements and these were a few of the pieces left over from that project.  I needed something else to help anchor my banner so I made some starfish using the AP cartridge's chubby star shape.  I simply scored down the middle of the star points, inked up the ridges with Chocolate ink and puffed up the middle with some pop dots.  Super cute and super easy!

Look Who's Turning 11 Birthday Card with CTMH Superhero and Look Who's

If you've visited me before, you know I'm a sucker for CTMH stamps.  I have a huge collection that grows with every Idea Book.  When I saw the new stamp set called "Look Who's" in the new Idea Book I fell in love with the banner image that says party AND the awesome scalloped frame with "look who's turning" and "birthday wishes for someone special".  Its just such an adorable emblem to add to a card or scrapbook page.

This week's challenge at Heart2Heart Challenges is a sketch challenge - one of my favorite kinds!  I'll show you the sketch at the bottom of the post and you'll see how perfectly it fits this stamp set!

Coolsville - Population 1 with CTMH Cruisin' and Cocktail

If you've ever seen the animated movie Iron Giant, in it the kid is playing around in the scrapyard and says "Welcome to Coolsville, population 1".  I absolutely love that phrase and the retro 1950's feel of the Cruisin' paper pack reminded me of that movie setting.  I think it makes for a cute guy card!

Over the Hill (on a bike) card with CTMH Cruisin', Just a Number, Enjoy Life

I literally squealed when I saw the new "Just a Number" slightly snarky birthday stamp set in the new Idea Book.  My family tends to be a wee bit snarky amongst ourselves (not mean - just jokey) and I knew this stamp set would be perfect for cards for us.  This sentiment paired perfectly with the bike from "Enjoy Life" and the map paper from Cruisin'.

I hope you all are having a wonderful Valentine's Day filled with sweetness, fun and love!  Here is a little treat holder tag I made for my kids using the Art Philosophy cartridge and an older Martha Stewart border punch.  They're each getting a small box of chocolates too.  Daddy got the BIG box of chocolates because his has to share with me - LOL.

A Tweet Card with CTMH Stella

I love the way this little bird turned out! I started off by rolling the edges of the bird stamp in Cocoa ink and then used a waterbrush to add the Lagoon and Olive inks to the main body.

Round Birthday Card with CTMH Stella plus tip for rolled Roses

With our Art Philosophy cartridge I'm finally starting to get into making round cards because its SOOO much easier to make big circles and other shapes.  Here is another card with our beautiful new Stella pack, sigh... I adore this romantic bohemian paper!

Here's a trick I just figured out for making your 3-D flowers smoosh and loosen up with a natural look:

1. Roll your flower, glue it down (I use a fast drying glue by Aileens for these) and let the glue set up. It doesn't have to be 100% dry but it needs to be holding the shape.

2. Spritz with a light mist of water (I use an empty stamp cleaning spray bottle) and use an acrylic block to smoosh your flower down a bit.

3. Let dry (about 5 minutes) and adhere to your project.

It makes the petals spread out a bit without tearing and flattens the whole flower for a more natural look. I love how it curls the very edges of the petals too!

Boy and Girl Layouts with the same stamp set

This is a great video from CTMH corporate showing how versatile stamps are - make the exact same layout but change up colors for a boy or girl look. That's why I *lurve* stamping - its so cost effective when you can use one set over and over again with new colors and new techniques!

CTMH Stella and Just for You

I've been a busy girl getting artwork ready for an upcoming Open House celebration and over the next couple of weeks I'll be sharing the art I created for each of the 8 new paper packs!  Its always so exciting to get a new book - the new stamps, the new color combinations, the papers and accessories...  There is definitely a reason why I'm a consultant!

The first kit I'm showcasing is called Stella - a wonderful bohemian mix with a sewing motif.  Here I've paired it with a fabulous Cricut coordinating stamp called "Just for You" and some of our new color-ready seam binding that I've colored with Olive ink.

Champagne and Chocolate for Valentine's Day

Champagne, chocolate and Valentine's Day - they just seem to go together!  This year I probably won't be indulging in the champagne because I've been on Ibuprophen for the aches and pains of training for my black belt but I still wanted to give my husband a treat in celebration of the love we share (not to mention thanking him for all the massages he gives to my sore muscles).  I whipped up a door hanger from the Art Philosophy cartridge which is perfect to hang from a bottle of champagne or sparkling cider and fill with some chocolates.

I also made a couple of cute 4x4" heart cutout cards from the AP cartridge with Black cardstock and filled the openings with our cute Roxie paper.  I'm thinking I'll slip one inside of his computer bag telling him to hurry home on Valentine's night!

After 23 years of having him as my Valentine, I'm still over the moon in love with my husband Mark!  Here's to you babe!
