First time posting...

Hello friends! I've decided to jump on the bandwagon and start up a blog! It might take me a while to get the hang of this but I've been kicking around the idea for several months and had some time tonight to play.

We went to see Escape to Witch Mountain today with the kids and a friend - great movie! All three of mine really liked it and I thought they did a good job. There was plenty of action and no bad language that I can remember. Just a fun, clean family movie to go see with your 15 and under crowd. I even saw several older teens going as a group who seemed to enjoy the film as well. I guess I must be getting older as they are now re-making MY childhood films - UGH!

Okay - here's what I have for the artistic portion of the post! This is an altered compostion book I made for and with my 10 year old son using Close to my Heart's awesome April Stamp of the Month. Spencer loves fish so this was the perfect set to create a personalized journal for him. We heavily used embossing (Black, White, Silver, Heavenly Blue) and CTMH's Watercolor Pencils to color in the fish and the canoe. We also used sponge daubers to color in around each item and topped it all off with lots of Liquid Glass to make the fish shine and stand out. The canoe has Liquid Glass as well but a thinner layer and I used the tip to make striations in the LG so when it dried it felt like actual wood - very cool! I had a blast making the cover as a surprise for him and when he saw it he decided he wanted to make the back cover. I love how easy it is to use our clear stamps - even my kids can be artists!
